Caramelized onion pasta

Ingredients

  • lSF gluten free penne pasta
  • 2 cups sliced red onions
  • 1/4 cup Soy sauce
  • 2-3 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 tbsp honey or syrup
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp fennel or cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Feta to serve
  • Fresh herbs to serve

Method

  1. Add the onions to a pan, sauté with the soy sauce, balsamic, and honey, and add the spices, salt, and pepper to taste.
  2. Caramelise until jammy.
  3. Cook the pasta according to the package directions and drain the pasta. Add a dollop of melted butter or coconut milk and mix well.
  4. Add the caramelised onions to the pasta, serve with crumbled feta, and enjoy!
